ARTFUL OCCASIONS COLLECTION - The hand knit shawls, ponchos and scarves on this page are special. These designs are each totally unique in pattern design and yarn. Much of the yarn is specialty hand dyed and or hand spun and from limited batches. These pieces are truly One of One.

The Vaine Thea Scarf/Shawl (below) - Cotton and Merino wool blended yarns are hand knit for this curved triangular piece. The lightweight and stretchy design allows for nice draping in a variety of ways to wear this scarf/shawl. Measuring approximately 72” long and 19” at the widest point. “Vaine” is Gaelic for green which seemed right for the name of this creation. I have named my version of this pattern Thea, for my Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Hand wash and dry flat.

Bouquet Thea Scarf/Shawl (below) - 80% Superwash Merino wool and 20% Nylon yarns were hand dyed by an Indie company, Lichen and Lace, in Nebraska. The specialty colors are labeled goldenrod forest for this hand knit Bouquet Thea Scarf/Shawl. I am calling my version of this scalene triangle pattern Thea, for my Grandmother and Great Grandmother. It is becoming a favorite for me because it allows me to change stitches and colors at my desire. This scarf/shawl measures approximately 80” at the top and 17” at the point. Hand wash, dry flat and reshape.
